Donna, this is beautiful!! Have you painted in oils before your love affair with pastel? these paintings you have posted in oil are very impressive! Love the recession, shapes and color. Its neat the way oil reflec's the light.

Hi Ida and Thank You! No I have not painted with oil at all. So this foray into the world of oil and brushes has been very interesting. I hope with oil I can continue to grow as an artist. I keep getting kind of stuck and want more excitement with painting. I hope some work with oil will provide the needed growth spurt that I crave. I am not going to stop using pastel, but for now concentrate on these new ideas with brushes and oil.

Donna, your oils are as beautiful as your pastels! I don't know how you do it - maybe your knowledge of layering with pastels is helping?

Thank you so very much Donna T! Yes, I am finding so many similar thoughts going through my head as I paint with a brush, however, I want to move into something more. My hope is that the brush and paint will allow me to connect more fully with my subject and I can apply that knowledge in either oil or pastel. I am stuck in one spot and want to move ahead. This is how I am trying to do that. You and Ida will see if it works, or, not.
