This morning after a time of being side tracked and thinking about the marketing or selling part of this art business, I opened our email and found a letter by Robert Genn. This wonderful letter emphasizes the understanding of the art world on a level that deals more with the purity of painting and leaving the "troubles of the outside world".The letter contains wonderful words like transitory, prayerful awe, harmony, bravery, solitude, infinite, triumph, calm, rational, beautiful, sublime, and eternal. Somehow I connected with his words and it brought me back from the brink of despair thinking about pricing, sizes, value, Manhattan, professional, big, collections, galleries, and city. In comparing words and the feelings one gets from the words, I guess I want to live in the world of harmony, bravery and even solitude with prayerful awe!

Oh, this is gorgeous, Donna! I hope things are going well for you at the Oak Street Hotel. I read that letter too and it reminded me of why I paint. Not to be in shows or even to sell but because it's what I love to do; it's something special.

Donna, boy even a beginner like myself understands how awful the promotion side can be. My oil painter Friend who is very good, is now getting works ready to submit to a show in Rock Springs, Wyo---and after doing the slides, and having his stuff made ready at a digital professionals place stated woefully--- that many people were profitting on his work, and he's just trying to get it seen!!! I don't think about that end at all, just keep learning.
