Winter Light Series

Two paintings, two complete different ideas of winter in the Northwest. We get cold snowy days followed by warmer and balmy weather, followed again by cold and snow. This first painting is from a photo taken last winter along the Columbia River. The water in this painting is a small tributary that winds around and then back to the main channel.

From a photo taken this winter near home. The snow is gone now, but maybe more on the way. Weather reporting is not an exact science in our area.

I like both of these a lot, Donna! I'm glad you're studying winter light and look forward to more in this series.

Nice colors Donna. You are getting more proficient with each painting.
Good job.
We too in N W Wyoming get a lot of extremes in temp and weather. The past week has been really mild and I even sat out on the porch to read this mornings Casper paper. My wife thought I was crazy. She is probably right.

Thank you Donna, Gary, and Ida. You all made my week. Winter can be a difficult time to feel inspired, but then when the sun comes out all is right with the world. A little snow and a little sun can make for a perfect day.

Hope this finds you all painting!
