Wind Break

These poplar trees have been planted as wind breaks, something needed anywhere near the Columbia River Gorge. This ridge line runs between Klickitat County and The Columbia River. Various entities are building wind farms along the top of this ridge and it is creating quite a wind fall for the Country. Below is a picture of the ridge line with all of the building. For some reason, unlike mowing my beautiful grasses, this does not bother me. The wind machines make the wind visible.

"Wind Break" ...another gorgeous painting! I love the feel of distance and the fantastic spot-on color.

I think I know what you mean about the wind machines....they have a remarkable presence of their own..an otherworldliness that is for whatever reason...beautiful.

Thank you Celeste. You have a way with words and express exactly these wonderful, huge, wind machines. Otherworldliness!
