Back from the Back of Beyond

The group that I paint with during the warmer summer months met up near Mt Adams.  For me the trip involves driving the back roads.  In Klickitat County the back roads are truly back of  beyond.  The roads take me from the desert east end of the county to the mountains and alpine regions of the western end.  The road is uninhabited for a large section of the trip.  Traffic includes the occasional ranch truck and a few logging vehicles careening down the narrow two lane county road.  Wild rivers and pristine forests are in abundance.  Going through the back of beyond is always an adventure.

Boy, Donna, its sure beautiful there!! This first photo is just amazing, and I bet difficult to do in pigment this type of scene---but aren't we lucky that we are in America and can try?! I was out also this am, and loved it.

Hi Donna, I am awed like Ida at the beauty of that area! I would be overwhelmed at attempting to capture even a part of those scenes. I hope you had an inspiring day!
