This was painted in the studio from a photo I took last spring about this time. It is a view that pulls me in every time we walk out to this viewpoint. In the past I have included the sky in a painting, but this time I was compelled by the layers upon layers of blue in the Gorge and so made the horizon higher and I think it gave a better feeling of how high we are above the river.
