Peacock Serenade and On the Edge

Yes I know this does not look like a location where one would find Peacocks. Behind me there is a nice green lawn. This is on Maryhill Museum property, a huge museum with paintings, sculptures, and yes, Peacocks. Buckley was very alarmed by all the noise. They sound like great big yowling cats! http://www.maryhillmuseum.org/

We spent a couple of hours here this morning. I have painted here before, but never on this spot nearer the edge of the Gorge. This is the dry side, where it never rains. My shoes where covered with things that stick and sting. Everything that grows here is tenacious in many ways. Snakes used to live here, but with all of the tourist traffic to the museum we were not concerned, but aware.

Well no wonder Buckley wanted to be up in the chair! Wow, what a location! Your painting describes the dry ground and cooler distance perfectly. Really nice, Donna!

I know that place---I think that is where I last saw my friend Buckley! That is a very nice painting..I have never done a successful painting there--it's hard! You certainly did it!

Thank you Donna T, and Celeste.

Celeste, I think Buckley was looking around for you. He seemed surprised that we were all alone. It is rugged, and extreme place to paint and I have been here too many times to count with dismal results. Maybe past efforts helped to get me here?
