Where Eagles Fly and Painting with Rachel

This is today's work. Rachel Harvey and I were up at the crack of dawn, well almost, dawn cracks at 5:30am and we started about 7:00am. This is one mile from the town of Hood River and is called "The Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail". The old highway built somewhere around 1915 or so runs up the Gorge. Some of it can be driven and some of it has been set aside for bikers/hikers/runners/walker, and even dogs, but no automobiles. Which is kind of a shame as the highway was one of those wonderful "modern marvels" in its day, and was created so they could drive automobiles up the Gorge from Portland.

Hi Donna,
I saw the thumbnail of this on Celeste's blog and had to come take a closer look. I just love the look and feel of this painting. The colors attracted me and the painting itself is very nice.
All the best,

You're killing me with these views! Wow, this is gorgeous, Donna. You repeated the blue-violet from the mountains in the foreground - subtle but very effective for the feeling of harmony. Keep up the awesome work!

Thank you Donna and Kathleen. You both made my day! I will keep painting and sharing. What fun this world of art is turning out to be. And what great friends.
