Mt. Adams and Will History Remember Realism? SOLD

This little painting is something I did for fun. I painted here a couple of summers ago during a plein air outing. With winter still upon us, my mind wanders back to some of the places I have been. This spot along the Scenic Road to Glenwood, is just a quick break in the trees and then it is gone in a flash. We had to turn around and drive back and forth until we found again this flash of perfectly composed beauty.

Speaking of beauty, I am reminded of the different types of art available and how each artist needs to carve out ideas based on love and a passion. For me it is about love of the natural world. I just happen to love being outside in nature, that is the perfect day for me. I hope that my paintings reflect that love. This love of nature goes back in my past to various attempts and activities designed to enjoy nature, such as horseback riding, bike riding, hiking, running trails, to simply standing in a place and representing what I see and feel in a painting. The pursuit of beauty and the peacefulness of a natural place is a grand day!

Donna, you have the rare gift of being able to tell the viewer exactly how you feel and the technical skills to pull it off. If you can't express the sense of beauty you see and feel there's hardly any point of painting the scene, IMHO. Your love of nature comes through loud and clear in this one - it makes me wish I was standing there too!

Thank you Donna T. What wonderful thoughts for me to wake up to this morning. Sometimes the words flow and other times, as you may notice I just want to paint. Reading, listenig, and seeing, as in books, music, and paintings all flow together. I try to include bits of this life on my blog, a glimpse into life. I hope that is successful as well.
