As I was painting this th...Hi Donna and thank you. As I was painting this the first time, a woman walked up and started talking about Richard McKinley and how he does oil under paintings. I have observed this at his workshops. This idea was in my thoughts as I washed off my PA work and started over with an oil wash. Same composition only this time I moved the horizon down to show less flowers and more sky. I was able to keep myself from over painting, and the oil wash shows through on the mountains and the greens around the flowers to create the illusion of depth. What did you change - composition? colors? If this were mine (I wish!) I would focus on the temporary beauty of the wildflowers in the title.
