The Salmon Run and The "Little" White Salmon River

Today we went on a little outing to the Little White Salmon River. A new place. Getting to these rivers is a challenge and we were happy to find a place where the road crosses the river and stopped. I painted under the bridge. This place had everything. Moss covered rocks, Queen Ann's Lace, water, salmon, and sounds. The winter months are not going to be long enough for all the new ideas that I have going.....

You could see salmon? Incredible! Beautiful painting Donna! You have the most gorgeous areas to paint out there - I am envious! I would be so happy just to do some studies of the water flowing in and around those rocks. The rest would overwhelm me for sure.

Donna, it is a pretty place and very pretty painting! When I saw it at first, I almost couldn't believe it - I have a place just few miles away from us, where I love to paint, and I just finished one of my works on it yesterday. Just like you say - place has everything (but salmon!) and my painting looks almost like reverse version of yours! Colors are different of course. It just amazing, what nature does and how two different creeks could look similar in the eyes of two different artists! Good job on this painting, us usually.

Thank you Tatiana. I looked at your painting and it is very similar. We chose the same composition. Great minds!
